Dentures are commonly used to replace teeth lost due to accidents and old age. They are also used by people who have serious dental problems, for example, tooth decay, gum infections and missing teeth. Besides providing support for biting, chewing and speaking clearly, dentures can boost your confidence and allow you to enjoy life to the fullest.

How do we create your dentures?

The process of creating your dentures usually takes several weeks. During your first visit, we will take impressions (moulds) and measurements of your teeth and gums. We will also discuss the shape, colour, and fit of your dentures with you. Once we have all the necessary information, we send this information to a lab where your custom dentures are created. You will then return to the practice for the final fitting. We may make small adjustments to your dentures to make sure they are well-fitted and comfortable. Some of the advantages of dentures include:

  • A more natural appearance and improved function of your teeth.
  • Improved confidence to speak, smile and chew with ease.
  • Improved overall health, as you will be able to eat nutritious foods.

Frequently asked questions

We offer removable dentures, including full and partial dentures. We can help you to choose the right treatment option for your needs.

No, it is not recommended to sleep with dentures in. Dentures are designed to fit closely and securely around your gums and teeth, but this can make them prone to dislodging or moving during sleep. In addition, the continual wear and tear of sleeping on your dentures may cause damage or irritation over time.

A candidate for dentures may be anyone who is looking to replace missing teeth or restore dental function. This can include people with advanced tooth decay, periodontal disease, teeth that are broken or damaged, or those that have suffered injury or trauma. In general, people who are in good overall health and do not have other major health conditions.

Yes, we offer flexible dentures to help provide a more comfortable fit and natural appearance. Flexible dentures are made from a special material that can be customized to your mouth, offering comfort and flexibility while still providing the support and stability you need.

It is important to care for your dentures properly in order to keep them clean and free of bacteria. You should brush your dentures daily with a soft-bristled toothbrush and nonabrasive cleanser. In addition, you should soak your dentures in a mild cleansing solution overnight to help remove any plaque or tartar buildup.

The lifespan of dentures can vary depending on the type of denture, as well as how well they are cared for. In general, dentures should be replaced every five to seven years. However, this may need to be sooner if you experience any changes in your mouth or if the fit of your dentures becomes loose.
